Hearing from Heaven

Glory to God!

As Christ's return draws ever closer, the Lord is preparing His people - encouraging, edifying and exhorting the Church to be ready. God is encouraging us to take hold of our new identity in Him, edifying us with the power of the Holy Spirit to walk in our new identiy and exhorting us to live holy lives, seperate from this world but influencing it with God's righteousness and power.

Two Sundays ago Richard spoke to us about the reality of the believer's citizenship in heaven. Looking at Acts 22:22-29, Richard explained the price of our citizenship, the privilege of our citizenship, the power of our citizenship and the purpose of our citizenship in heaven. • Price of citizenship - Jesus paid the price for our citizenship with His blood. 1 Peter 1:17-19
• Privilege of citizenship - As citizens of heaven we have access to the limitless possibilities of God. Ephesians 2:18,19
• Power of citizenship - As citizens of heaven we can stand against the work of the enemy. 2 Cor. 10:3-5
• Purpose of citizenship - As citizens of heaven we are called to walk in H.O.P.E. (Holiness, Overcoming faith, Perseverance and Expectation). 1 Peter 1

The Church is called to live as citizens of heaven in this world! John 17:15-19; Eph. 2:19; Phil. 3:20

"But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Saviour from there, 

the Lord Jesus Christ." Phil 3:20

This past weekend we had a powerful time as Francois Botes and Alexander Blair ministered to us in our Hearing from Heaven conference. On Friday evening, Francois spoke to us about the 4 Beast Kingdoms described in Daniel 2 and 7 and showed us the devlopment of world kingdoms as they relate to God's kingdom purposes. Francois' clear teaching helped us understand the times and revealed God's word to the Church to be seperate from the world and not to allow mixture! On Saturday afternoon, Francois and Alexander taught the church very practically on the prophetic, explaining the difference between the spirit of prophecy, the gift of prophecy and the office of the prophet as well as equipping the church to prophesy as we applied what we learned and prophesied over one another. It was wonderful to see God use the saints to encourage one another simply and powerfully. On Saturday evening, Alexander shared a message on "How to receive from God" which you can listen to here. In his message, Alexander showed us from the account of the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5, how to receive from God by hearing, speaking, and acting on the truth of God. On both Friday and Saturday evenings, Francois and Alexander ministered prophetically to many people who confirmed that what God was saying to them through Francois and Alexander, was true.

On Sunday, Francois spoke to us from Genesis 29, relating the account of Jacob, Laban, Leah and Rachel to God's promises in our own lives. In his powerful message, Francois showed us how God's promises for the future can be delayed if we do not embrace, and are not faithful to, what He gives us in the present. We praise God for not only speaking to us through Francois and Alexander but for also ministering to us and equipping us to move in the prophetic.
