Servant Sons

Glory to God!

On Saturday we teamed up with a group from Treffpunkt Leben with the purpose of going out onto the streets of Frankfurt-Bockenheim to speak to people about Jesus. Over 20 of us went in pairs for an hour and a half and then returned to share what God was doing. The testimonies were very encouraging as people reported that the majority of people they spoke to were open and many had opportunities to have significant conversations with hurting and lost people. God is preparing our city for an awakening and it's as the Church is revived that we are going to see the Light moving into the darkness to reveal the glory of God in the hearts of the lost. Hallelujah!

Yesterday the Lord spoke to us about being Servant-Sons and this is what He showed us:
  1. Jesus, the Son of God, was with the Father from the beginning. John 1:1,2; Col. 1:15-20; Heb. 1:3
  2. Jesus did not hold on to His privileges and rights as a son but made Himself nothing by taking on the form of man and becoming completely dependent on the Father. Phil. 2:5-11
  3. Jesus humbled Himself and became a servant who lived in complete obedience to His Father. John 12:49,50; 14:31; Heb. 5:8,9; Phil. 2:8
  4. Jesus left us an example that we are to follow. John 13:15
  5. Just as Jesus did not hold on to the privileges and rights of sonship and made Himself a servant, so the believer is not to simply live as a son of God but is called to become a servant. John 13:12-17
  6. Even though the believer is seated with Christ in the heavenly realm as a son of God in Christ, s/he is called to humble him/herself and become a servant, living in complete obedience to God. Eph. 2:6; John 14:15
  7. God chose us to be sons - we must choose to become servants!
  8. Sonship without servanthood is selfishness.
  9. Servanthood without sonship is legalism.
  10. Jesus knew His identity and He knew where He came from and where He was going. Only when the believer truly has revelation of his/her identity in Christ will s/he be able to "strip himself" to serve. John 13:3,4

Sonship without servanthood is selfishness
Servanthood without sonship is legalism

Quote of the week:

"Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
Who being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himslef and became obedient to death - even death on a cross!" Phil. 2:6-8

Light in the darkness

Glory to God!

On Saturday many Christians from many different denominations joined together to declare the name of Jesus in the streets of inner city Frankfurt. The Jesus March is held once a year and is a powerful opportunity to declare Christ's lordship over the city and to bless the city. We praise God for this wonderful witness of the unity of the Body of Christ in Frankfurt as we worshipped and praised God and shared the good news of salvation in Christ with the citizens of Frankfurt. Hallelujah!

Yesterday the Lord spoke to us about the Church being light in the world. This is what He showed us:

  1. God is light. 1 John 1:5
  2. The believer is united to God. 1 John 4:15
  3. Since the believer is united to God and made one with Him, the believer is light! Matth. 5:14; 2 Cor. 6:14
  4. As believers we don't live to become light but we live as light. Eph. 5:1-10
  5. The believer is to walk as light and in the light. Eph. 5:1-10; 1 John 1:5-7
  6. The way for the believer to walk as light is for him/her to be transfigured/transformed by the renewing of his/her mind. Matthew 17:1-3; Rom. 12:2
  7. God wants our thoughts to be replaced by His thoughts so our lives are transfigured to reveal His light in the darkness. Rom. 12:2
  8. When our thoughts are replaced with God's thoughts, our hearts/attitudes will be transformed and therefore our speech will be transformed and therefore our actions and behaviour will be transformed to reveal and release the light of Christ. Eph. 4:23,24
  9. Children of light are set apart (made holy) to be a people of self-control, faith, hope and love. 1 Thess. 5:4-8
  10. Purity, faith, hope and love are the characteristics of God's holy people who live as light in the darkness. 1 Cor. 13:13; Gal. 5:6

God has created the Church to be the light of the world as she lives in
purity, faith, hope and love.

On Saturday a team from KLF and Treffpunkt Leben will be walking the streets of Frankfurt to share God's heart with the lost. We are looking forward to seeing what God will do as we purposefully shine in the darkness.

Quote of the week:

"You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness...But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet." 1 Thess. 5:5,8

Set apart for God's purpose

Glory to God!

Today the Lord spoke to us about holiness and this is what He showed us:
  1. God is holy. 1 Peter 1:15
  2. The nature of holiness is both blamelessness and separateness/ otherness.
  3. God is pure light and unique - beyond compare and apart from any other god. Isaiah 40:25
  4. The believer is commanded to be holy. 1 Peter 1:16
  5. Therefore the believer is called to be blameless and separate/ other.
  6. In Christ the believer is made holy and is set apart as God's possession and for God's purpose. Eph. 2:10; 4:24; 1 Peter 2:9-12
  7. The believer does not live to become holy but is called to live a holy life because he is holy! 1 Cor. 1:2; Eph.5:8; 1 Peter 2:9
  8. The satanic trap is to get believers to try to become what they already are so that they are preoccupied with themselves and not with God's purpose for their lives as His set-apart people.
  9. God has made His people blameless so that they pursue His purposes for their lives, the good works he has prepared for those in Christ to do. Eph.2:10
  10. As God's people do His will they walk in holiness, in the otherness of God and not as the people of this world. John 17:19; 1 Peter 1:14-16; 1 Peter 2:9-12
  11. God wants His people to walk blamelessly and set apart for His purposes, not for the believers' own sake but for the glory of God and the for the sake of the lost. Ezekiel 36:22,23
  12. God wants His people to walk in holiness so that He can walk among them and reveal Himself. 2 Cor. 6:14-7:1
  13. God's people are identified by the evidence of their being the habitation of God and the manifestation of God's presence in their midst! 2 Cor. 6:16; Ezekiel 37:26-28
  14. The Church is God's holy people living in this world but not of this world. John 17:16-19
  15. The Church cannot be light in the darkness if she treats herself and her members as common and not as the holy people God has made her to be.

Quote of the week:

"For we are the temple of God. As God has said: 'I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.' 'Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord.'" 2 Cor. 6:16,17

In His Presence

Glory to God!

Faith Camp was brilliant! Over 5000 people attended this year's camp, held at the Peterborough showground. Faith Camp is organised by Kingdom Faith and is a dynamic time in God's presence for all age groups. The preaching of the Word of God was powerful and many gave their lives to Jesus and there are many testimonies of healings that occured all around the camp during our time together. One of the testimonies is of a woman who was healed of lung cancer as a few youngsters prayed for her at her tent! God is amazing! Click here for more info...
Kingdom Life is blessed to be in covenant relationship with Kingdom Faith under the leadership of Pastor Clive Urquhart as we benefit from the apostolic anointing upon Kingdom Faith. During the week, Pastor Clive related Kingdom Faith's vision to us and we are excited to partner with KF to fulfill God's vision for His people both locally and globally. Check our this clip for more info...

Yesterday's meeting at KLF was wonderful. God's presence is so amazing and we praise Him for His faithfulness and love to us. The Lord spoke to us about making the right choices and He showed us that we can choose what looks good but is barren or we can choose what may not be as attractive but will be fruitful! God also spoke to us about the fact that we will go through trials and that we must recognise God's process to help us become more and more like Jesus. Identifying God's refining fire helps us persevere through difficulties in life rather than give up, knowing that God's purpose and will for our lives are good.

Quote of the week:

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." James 1:2-4
