Mature in Christ

Glory to God!

These past two weeks, the Lord has been speaking to us about spiritual maturity. In his message entitled, "Building right foundations," Alexander spoke to us about the need for the believer to have strong foundations in order to grow to maturity. Looking at what it means to build our lives on the bedrock of Christ, he showed us that we must live in relationship with Jesus and align ourselves to Him and His Word (Luke 6:46-49). Alexander also described the evidence of immaturity that include:
  • being dull of hearing
  • lethargy, lack of drive, stagnation
  • taking no responsibility
  • being self-focused
  • not participating or adding value but just consuming
  • lack of discernment
  • instability
  • not keeping spiritually fit
  • disobedience
  • compromise
A life built on the Rock will grow to maturity and withstand the storms of life.

We are excited about new Life Groups that have started and will be starting in the next weeks. These small groups that meet at various people's homes in and around Frankfurt are instrumental in building community and helping our people stay connected, care for one another, grow in their relationship with God, discover and exercise their gifts and learn to be light in the world.

A couple Sundays ago, a KLF team of 10 people were invited to minister at the EFG Frankfurt-Nordwest. Our team led the worship, shared God's Word and ministered prophetically during and after the meeting. It was a very special time as we experienced God's presence and power and many were visibly touched by the Father's love. It was also a powerful opportunity to demonstrate the unity of the Body of Christ in Frankfurt and to witness the spiritual reality of God's anointing upon unity (Psalm 133).

On Saturday evening was another Proverbs and Jazz event at the Awake Café. Alexander and Natalie, together with Guardians of Jazz, hosted a wonderful evening of short input that provided food for thought, excellently played Jazz, and 2 artisitic presentations. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting and provided a great opportunity to connect with others and bring non-Christians into a non-churchy, spiritual environment.

Yesterday was another special time in God's presence as we worshipped and encountered God together. In his message entitled, "Wanted: Dead and Alive!" Richard spoke to us about what it means to be mature in Christ. This is what he showed us:

  • God wants us to become mature. Eph 4:11-13
  • Maturity means being Christ-like. 1 Jn 2:6
  • Christ-likeness means being conformed to Christ in His death and resurrection. Rom 6:2-14
  • God is looking for a people who carry both the death and life of Christ. Jn 12:24-26; 2 Cor 4:10; Phil 3:10,11
  • By faith we put sin to death so that the life of Christ will be revealed in and through us. Rom 6:12,13; Col 3:5-11
  • The road to maturity is perseverance. James 1:2-4
  • Perseverance is remaining unmoved under the influence of God. Eph 4:14
  • You are wanted: dead and alive! Rom 6:11
Those who persevere, who remain unmoved by faith in Christ's death and resurrection, grow to maturity! Hallelujah!
