Death and Life in Christ

Glory to God!

What a glorious weekend! Focusing on Christ's death and the significance of the cross, we gathered together on Good Friday for a time of worship, prayer, reflection and fellowship. We took the word, cross, acrostically and meditated on the meaning of the cross that represents:

Christ's crucifixion and death. 1 Cor. 2:2
Redemption. Rev 5:9
Obedience. Heb. 5:7-10; Luke 22:39-46; Phil. 2:5-11
Sacrifice. Jn 1:29; 3:16; 2 Cor. 5:21
Salvation. Is 53:3-12

On Sunday we had a powerful meeting as we worshipped our risen King and reflected on His resurrection power. In his message entitled, Raised to reign, Richard showed us the following:

  1. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead and raised Him to the right hand of the Father above all rule and authority has been given to us. Eph 1:18-23
  2. God gives us resurrection power not to just survive in life or fight for holiness.
  3. God gives us resurrection life so we can reign in life through Christ. Rom 5:17
  4. We reign in life when we live in the finished work of the cross, in the fullness of Christ's resurrection life and bring heaven on earth. 2 Cor 5:17; Gal 2:20; Col 3:3,4
  5. We forget what is behind and strain toward what is ahead to win the prize for which God has called us heavenward in Christ Jesus. Phil 3:13,14
  6. We have been raised to reign!
In response to God's truth the whole church ministered healing to the sick in Christ's resurrection power and experienced heaven on earth as people received healing and overcame the power of the enemy. Hallelujah!
