Living from the Source

Glory to God!

KLF supports Hermon Living Water Ministries (click here for more info..), a dynamic missionary work in Andhra Pradesh, India. A few weeks ago a small team from KLF travelled to India to be part of the evangelistic and social work that is being developed locally by HLWM. Yesterday the team gave a report of their trip and we were greatly encouraged to hear how God is blessing the work. Through the evangelistic meetings 126 people were saved and baptised and many lives were touched and healed, including a cripple who came to one of the meetings on his hands, dragging his body behind him but leaving the meeting in the evening on his two feet after God had healed him! Hallelujah!

The Lord is speaking to us about living in the fear of the Lord and this is what He showed us yesterday.

  • To live in the fear of the Lord is to live from God by relying on Him.
  • To live in the fear of the Lord is to live because of God in response to Him.
  • To live in the fear of the Lord is to live for God to revere Him.
  • To understand how one lives from God, one must understand what salvation really is.
  • Through faith in Christ, the believer has been saved (past tense). Eph. 2:8; Rom. 10:10
  • Through faith in Christ, the believer will be saved when Christ returns (future). 1 Peter 1:5
  • Through faith in Christ, the believer is being saved (present continuous). 1 Peter 1:8,9; Col. 1:21-23; 1 Cor. 1:18
  • Salvation is therefore present continuous as the believer continues to rely on God. Gal. 3:1-3 (click here for more on "being saved")
  • Many believers know Christ as their Saviour - the One who has saved them and will save them.
  • However, the believer must know Christ, not only as his Saviour but also as his Salvation as s/he continues to rely on Christ and live in dependence upon Him.
  • Christ must be the believer's Source (Salvation) and not just his Solution (Saviour)!
  • Salvation is union with God through continuous dependence on, or faith in Christ. 1 John 2:5, 28; 4:15
  • King David knew God not only as His Saviour but also as his Salvation! Psalm 27:1; 62:1-8

God must be the believer's Source and not just his Solution!

We praise God for His awesome revelation to us and for showing us how to fear Him as we continue to live from Him, relying on Him alone.
