Transformation

Glory to God!

Yesterday we launched our new website, logo and look! Having celebrated our 12th anniversary the previous Sunday, yesterday was a significant day as we established who we are as a church and what God's vision and purpose is for Kingdom Life, both in Frankfurt as well as in Butuan in the Philippines. It was very special to have our pastors, Julius and Roszel, from Kingdom Life Butuan with us for this important occasion. In a wonderfully creative way, Alexander and Natalie led the unveiling and explanation of our new website, logo and look. With the help of some of our members and youth, we were shown Kingdom Life's new image on roll-ups, t-shirts, caps, banners and posters and were all given our new KLF welcome package! We had a lot of fun and are excited about the significance of our new image and the transformation that it symbolises for us as a church.

Richard and Julius then explained the vision of Kingdom Life and what it means to live the Kingdom life wherever we are. You can listen to their messages here.  In his message, Richard showed us that God's vision for us individually and as a church is Christ - to be like Him and to do as He did while on earth. As followers of Jesus, all of us are called to imitate Him and to live the Kingdom life that He lived (Mt 3:19; Jn 13:15,16; 17:18; 1 Cor 11:1; Phil 3:10,11; Heb 12:2; 1 Jn 2:6). Jesus demonstrated the Kingdom life as He lived for the glory of God, for the sake of the Church and for the expansion of God's Kingdom - He reached up, reached in and reached out. Likewise, if we are to be like Jesus, we are called to reach up (lives devoted to God as we live from Him, through Him, to Him and for His glory glory forever); reach in (lives devoted to the Body of Christ as we love one another, serve one another, encourage one another, forgive one another, etc) and reach out (lives devoted to bringing God's love and grace to the lost to reconcile them to the Father). We praise God for making the vision and mission of Kingdom Life plain to us so that each of us can be a significant part of the fulfilment of God's vision for us. Hallelujah!

On Saturday, Richard and Julius led a seminar entitled, "Keys to Transformation." A group of us gathered in Leipziger Str. 60 to explore how God wants to bring transformation in our personal lives, in the Church and in our cities. Richard showed us that transformation is both the work of God and man and that transformation can only happen when there is God's revelation and man's repentance. Julius spoke to us about transformation in the Church and shared how important it is that God's people understand the "priesthood of all believers" (1 Pet 2:5) and the need for every believer in the church to serve and be a significant part of the fulfilment of the mission and vision of the local church. Through our discussion it became very clear that transformation can only happen in the church as people are discipled and as people get involved and actively apply what they learn. In our last session, Richard shared how a city is transformed, one person at a time; by recognising who God has placed in one's life; through prayer and intercession; through kindness that leads to repentance; by being uncompromising in essence and flexible in form; by keeping the main thing, the main thing and by doing it together.
