Revealing God's wisdom

Glory to God!

The Lord is continuing to speak to us about wisdom and yesterday He showed us the following:

The wisdom of the righteous
  • God wants to turn the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous to make ready a people prepared for Him. Luke 1:17
  • God's people live according to the wisdom of the righteous as they obey His will. Rom. 1:5; 16:25-27; 1 Peter 1:1,2
  • Christ is the wisdom of God. 1 Cor. 1:24, 30; Col. 2:3
  • Those who are in Christ have received God's wisdom and have the mind of Christ, knowing the thoughts of God by the Holy Spirit. 1 Cor. 2:6-16
Jesus our example
  • Jesus demonstrated the wisdom of God by His words and actions. Matthew 11:19
  • Jesus lived according to the principles of God and the presence of God. Matthew 4:1-11; John 8:38
Principles and Presence
  • The believer must depend on the Word of God (principles) and the presence of God (Spirit) to demonstrate the wisdom of the righteous.
  • Those who live according to principles without the Presence are in danger of legalism.
  • Those who think they are living according to the Spirit without knowledge of the Word are in danger of deception.
Seeking the willl of God
  • The believer is called to seek the will of God and obey it to reveal God's wisdom. Eph. 5:15-17
  • The believer must learn to be led by the Spirit to know the will of God. Rom. 8:14; Gal. 5:16,17, 25
  • Spiritual wisdom is derived from the Spirit and not the natural.
  • Circumstances and the natural realm can confirm what the Spirit is saying but should not be depended on for primary direction from the Lord. 2 Cor. 2:12,13
  • As the believer grows in his knowledge of God, he will know what pleases the Lord. Col. 1:9-12
  • Those who are led by the Spirit of God will know what the Holy Spirit desires (Gal. 5:16,17) and when the Holy Spirit: is grieved (Eph. 4:30); envies intensely (James 4:5); comforts and encourages (John 14:16); convicts (John 16:8-11); teaches (John 16.13; 1 John 2:27) etc
  • God has entrusted the believer with His Spirit and His wisdom so that the believer can make godly decisions that are based on the knowledge of God and the prompting of the Spirit rather than on specific instructions and commands (Compare Acts 1:21-26 and Titus 1:5-9).
We praise God that He has given us everything we need to walk in the wisdom of the righteous as we live from the principles and the presence of God!

Quote of the week:
"Many of the people of Israel will he bring back to the Lord their God. And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous - to make ready a people prepared for the Lord." Luke 1:16,17

Building on the Rock

Glory to God!

Yesterday the Lord spoke to us about our need to get wisdom and this is what He showed us:

  1. Wisdom begins with fearing God – relying on, responding to, and revering God. Isaiah 11:1-5; Prov. 9:10
  2. Get wisdom! Prov. 4:7; 2:1-11; Eph. 5:15,16
  3. Wisdom is the application of knowledge and understanding.
  4. Natural wisdom has its source in the created. 1 Cor. 2:6
  5. Spiritual wisdom has its source in God. 1 Cor. 2:6-14
  6. We need spiritual knowledge, understanding and wisdom to know the will of God and do it. Eph. 1:17,18; Col. 1:9-12
  7. Those who don’t seek to know and understand the Lord’s will are foolish. Eph. 5:15,16; Prov. 28:26
  8. Those who know and understand the will of God and don’t do it are foolish. Matt. 7:24-27; Luke 6:43-45
  9. Our words and behaviour reveal the source of our wisdom. James 3:13

We praise God for His revelation to us and for giving us spiritual knowledge, spiritual understanding and spiritual wisdom in order for us to live our lives wisely and not foolishly! The Lord is helping us to build our lives on solid rock! Hallelujah!

We are continuing to pray for Israel and to know what is on God's heart for Israel. Our desire is to pray God's will according to the revelation He gives us concerning Israel - the Jewish people, the nation and the land.

Quote of the week:

"Be very careful, then, how you live - not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is." Eph. 5:15-17

The God of Peace

Glory to God!

Yesterday's meeting was amazing! The presence of God was tangible! We gave the Holy Spirit room to do what He wanted and as we followed His lead we were richly blessed. Hallelujah!

Looking at Psalm 23, we were invited by the Lord to know and experience Him according to the revelation David had when he wrote the Psalm. As we reflected on the Psalm, the Lord ministered His peace to us and He encouraged and strengthened our faith. The Lord showed us how He wants us to rest in Him and dwell in Him. We then prayed, using the Psalm as the revelation of truth for our lives. It was very powerful indeed!
This week we feel led to pray for Israel. Our desire is to know God's heart for Israel and how he wants KLF to be part of His purpose for Israel.

Quote of the week:

PSALM 23
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.

Fullness of Life

Glory to God!

Yesterday we heard an exciting report about pastor Richard's missionary trip to the Philippines and how many were saved, healed and were delivered from the kingdom of darkness! For more information on the trip and the exciting things that God was doing, have a look at the Mabini Blog (click here).

The Lord reminded us yesterday of what He spoke to KLF about at the beginning of the year: "God's purpose for KLF in 2011" (click here...). He showed us how the believer has received fullness of life in Christ Jesus and that through our union with Christ, we are joined to Eternal Life (John 10:10; Col. 2:9,10; 1 John 1:1-4; 5:11-13,20). It is therefore through the believer's union with Eternal Life that the believer can enjoy fellowship with God, be like God and do His will to produce lasting fruit (1 John 1:1-4; 1 Peter 1:15,16; Gal. 5:22; Rom. 7:4; John 14:12; 15:16). Hallelujah!

In the evening we ministered to the poor and homeless at our monthly soup kitchen and enjoyed spending time with these precious people, sharing the love of God with them.

Quote of the week:

"You died to the power of the law when you died with Christ. And now you are united with the one who was raised from the dead. As a result, we can produce a harvest of good deeds for God." Romans 7:4 (NLT)
