Glory to God!
This past weekend KLF celebrated her 10th anniversary. The fun began on Friday evening with a Holywood Party where many came dressed up to attend our very own Oscar night where oscars were awarded for catagories like: best hair, best worshipper, most punctual, shortest sermon, and other silly catagories. The evening was hosted by Moriah-Jane and Chris and interspersed with musical contributions from our wonderfully talented people, young and oldish. On Saturday morning many got together for a KLF picnic in the park and in the evening we continued our celebration with our Night of the Nations where we enjoyed a delicious dinner together, followed by a KLF talent night with many different contributions from many different nations. Our talented people performed poetry, songs, creative writing, dance, classical music, sketches, jokes and the like - it was great fun to see and hear the variety of gifted people in our church family. On Sunday we concluded the weekend celebrations with a thanksgiving service in which we gave God the glory for His faithfulness and thanked the people who have been a significant part of our journey as a church. It was a very special time to honour one another and to celebrate all the good things God has done these past 10 years. Richard then shared a message on 10 lessons he learned from the past 10 years in which he spoke about some of the things he has learned over the years. This is what he shared:
- God is faithful even when I am not. God works despite me. 2 Tim 2:13; Gal. 3:5
- I know in part, then I shall know fully even as I am fully known. 1 Cor 13:12
- Power comes out of intimacy. Mt 6:6
- People are more important than purpose. It is more important to love than to achieve. Jn 21:15-17
- It is easier to start something than to sustain something. James 1:4
- Forgiveness sets free. Col 3:3
- God’s purposes are unstoppable. Is 9:6,7
- The Kingdom is huperballo. Eph 3:20,21
- True love perseveres. Prov 18:24
- The Church is the glory of God in imperfect vessels. 2 Cor 4:6,7
A couple of weeks ago, we had the privilege of having Myrna Gabilan with us from WYAM Frankfurt, who spoke to us about growing in our knowledge of God in order to make Him known. Richard then spoke to us about being born of imperishable seed to live the Gospel life of hope, faith and love. As part of the Jonah Project, we are seeing how God is speaking to us about reaching the Lost and carrying His heart for our city and the nations.
