Living the Kingdom life

Glory to God!

It is always a very special occasion when believers follow Christ's example and obey God's will for them to be baptised. Three weeks ago 7 people testified to their faith in Christ and their commitment to follow Him as we celebrated their new lives in Christ at our baptismal service in the EFG church in Eschersheim. Frances shared a message from Matthew 3:13-17 entitled The Rewards of Obedience in which she showed us how God blesses obedience (James 1:22-25), how obedience releases the anointing and how obedience brings God pleasure. After the baptisms many people brought powerful and specific prophetic words for each of those who had been baptised. It was very special indeed!

A couple of weeks ago Prem shared a message entitled The Encounter with the Father (II) in which he spoke to us from the parable of the lost son (Luke 15:11-32). Prem focused on verses 24 and 32 and showed us why the father celebrated and how he celebrated, revealing the possessive nature of our heavenly Father and how He loves to celebrate with us as He divides the spoil with us (Is 53:12). Hallelujah!

On Sunday Richard spoke to us about How to live the Kingdom life. As an introduction to a series on Kingdom living, Richard showed us from Romans 12:1-21 that in order to live the Kingdom life, the believer must understand why s/he is pursuing Kingdom living (motivation), how s/he is to pursue Kingdom living and what Kingdom living looks like (manifestation). Looking at Romans 12, we saw that the believer must be motivated by God's mercy and that in order to manifest the life of the Kingdom, the believer must be transformed by aligning his or her thinking to God's truth and obeying his "good, pleasing and perfect will." God's word to us is a call to remember His mercy, to renew our minds and to respond in obedience to His will.
