Responding to God

Glory to God!

Yesterday's meeting was very powerful as we encountered God in worship and interceded for others in His presence. The Lord is speaking to us about living the Kingdom life wherever we are and showing us what it means to live a holy life, set apart for God and His purposes.Yesterday the Lord showed us that God's holy people are sanctified by faith in God and His Word.

Faith is the conviction of both the present and future reality of God and His Kingdom. Heb. 11:1
Faith is not based on what is seen but on the invisible. Heb. 11:1; 2 Cor.4:18
True faith is always accompanied by a response to God's presence and His Word. John 14:15

The believer's faith is as real as his response to the presence and will of God!

Faith without action is dead. James 2:26
Jesus responded to the present reality of the Father. He did what the He saw the Father doing and spoke what He heard the Father saying. John 5:19,30
Christ's obedience to the Father set Him apart to become the Author of salvation. Heb. 4:8-10
Christ sancified Himself to be able to sanctify those who would believe in Him. John 17:19
Through faith and obedience to God's presence and His Word, the believer lives a holy life. John 17:17; 1 Peter 1:14-16
As God's holy people we are called to live the Kingdom life - a life set apart by our response to God's presence, His Word and the hope of Christ's return.

We praise God for His revelation to us and for setting us apart for His glory!

This week we are praying for the city of Frankfurt to be protected from the planned "Blockupy" protests that have been accompanied by vanadalism and violence in the past. As God's people we are standing together against the forces of darkness that seek to destroy our city!

My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but hat you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. Kingdom Authority

Glory to God!

The Lord is teaching us what it means to live the Kingdom Life wherever we are and He has been showing us that to live the Kingdom life is to be holy just as God is holy (1 Peter 1:15). Our Sunday meetings have been very powerful as God has been revealing His holiness to us and helping us understand and experience His holiness so that we know what it is to walk in holiness.

These past two Sundays the Lord has shown us how holiness relates to our relationships with one another and with God. Walking in holiness means aligning ourselves with God's will and purpose on earth as it is in heaven. God is calling His people to return to His Kingdom order so that relationships and families are restored. In particular the Lord is calling the men in the Church to take up their godly roles and responsibilities as the head of the family to restore holiness to the family and society. In a powerful sermon on God's will to restore our families and to heal the brokenness and hurts caused by ungodly fathers and men, Alexander Blair revealed the Father's heart to realign His people to His will for the family and relationships with one another.

Yesterday the Lord spoke to us about what it means to be a holy people and God's purpose for holiness. This is what He showed us:

God is holy and He calls His people to be holy. 1 Peter 1:15
As God's holy people we have been purchased with the blood of Jesus to be God's possession. Rev. 5:9; 1 Cor. 6:20; 1 Pet. 2:9
Living in holiness means living as God's possession. As God's possession, we belong to God and are set apart for Him and His purposes. 2 Cor. 5:15
God calls His people to live holy lives so that He is revealed to the nations. Ezek. 36:23-32
Jesus walked in holiness as He walked in complete submission to the Father; therefore revealing the Father and walking in the authority of the Father. Matthew 4:1-11; Mark 1:21-28; 1 John 3:7-10
Living as God's possession reveals the believer's absolute submission to God's authority and therefore the believer is able to walk in God's authority to overcome the works of the devil. Mat. 10:1,7,8; Luke 10:9, 17-20; Luke 11:14-28; John 17:14-19
Unless the believer walks under authority, he cannot walk in authority! Luke 7:1-10
Disobedience gives Satan a foothold that hinders God's authority and power in the believer's life. Eph. 4:26,27; 1 John 3:21-24
Living as God's possession is demonstrated by the believer's life - his attitude toward authority, his use of his body, time, money, and resources.
Living as God's possession means every part of the believer's life belongs to God - the believer lives as a steward of what God has entrusted to him.
God's holy people therefore tithe, fast, abstain, share, give, etc. 1 Cor. 7:5; Mark 9; Isaiah 58
The purpose of living as God's possession is to reveal God and overcome the kingdom of darkness!

We praise God for showing us what it means to live the Kingdom life so that God's Kingdom is manifested on earth as it is in heaven through His holy people. Hallelujah!

Dancing with God

Glory to God!

God is among us! People are encountering Him and being touched by Him. Hallelujah!

The Lord is speaking to us about holiness and is showing us that as His holy people, we are called to be holy. This is what God revealed to us yesterday:

The believer in Christ is sanctified (made holy) through his union with the Holy One. Eph. 5:3; 1 Cor. 1:2
Sanctification is not a process. The believer is holy the moment s/he is joined to Christ.
As God's holy people, set apart for God, believers are commanded to live holy lives. Eph. 4:24; 5:3,8; 1 Peter 1:14-17;
The believer who pursues holiness is faced with the battle of desires - the desires of the sinful nature against the desires of the Spirit. Gal. 5:17; Rom. 8:12-14
Those who try to follow rules, or those who use their freedom in Christ to satisfy their own desires, will not produce the fruit of holiness. Rom. 7; 1 Pet.2:16
Those who seek to not grieve the Holy Spirit but please Him will live in holiness. Eph. 4:30; 5:10
Those who follow the Spirit will produce the fruit of the Holy Spirit - holiness. Gal. 5:22-25
Obeying God means following the Holy Spirit and keeping in step with Him, responding to God's presence and leading. Gal. 5:25; Rom. 8:5-14
God's mercy and grace give the believer access to fellowship with God. 1 John 1:1-2:6
Those who remain in fellowship with God become increasingly sensitive to what He desires, and in obedience to God will live holy lives. John 14:15; 1 John 3:6, 24
The way of the Spirit is like dancing with God!
Fellowship is the key to holiness. To live in holiness the believer must pursue fellowship with God and remain in Him. John 15; 1 John 3:6,24

Called to Holiness

Glory to God!

The Lord is increasingly manifesting His presence in our meetings and yesterday we simply moved with the Holy Spirit as He led us. The Father is showing us what His Kingdom is like so that we understand what it means to live the Kingdom life. Yesterday He revealed His holiness to us and showed us that He and everything that belongs to Him is holy. Consequently, as His holy people, saved by grace, we have been joined to the Holy One and are called to be holy as He is holy (1 Peter 1:16). God's Kingdom is a Kingdom of Holiness.

Looking at 2 Cor. 6:14 - 7:1, the Lord showed us that the purpose of His infilling presence is for us to be set apart for God's purposes and for the Church to reveal His holiness. Without the awareness of the presence of God in his or her life, the believer cannot walk in holiness. Those who respond to God's indwelling presence are those who fear God in secret and in public. Holiness is the substance of Heaven that God wants to communicate through His people as they follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. The secrets of the Kingdom are given to those who fear God and walk according to His Holy Spirit (Psalm 25:14; Isa. 45:3; Matt. 13:11; 1 Cor. 2:7; 4:1).

We also saw how every true outpouring of God's Spirit has led to revivals that are marked by holiness - God's people and the unsaved responding to God's holy presence with repentance and obedience. The manifestation of God's presence will always be a revelation of holiness that causes man to worship Him, humble himself and become aware of everything that is unholy in himself and in society (Ex. 34:8,9; Isa. 6:1-5; Acts 2). By grace God has set apart His people to live holy lives. The purpose of God's grace is holiness - His kindness leads to repentance (Rom. 2:4). Grace is not a cover-up for evil (1 Pet. 2:16) but God's enabling power for His people be like Him and to walk in holiness (Eph. 4:24; 2 Pet.1:3).

We praise God for His revelation to us and for manifesting His holy presence among us! Hallelujah!

Easter Celebration

Glory to God!

He is risen! Yesterday we celebrated the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ and His victory over sin and death. Three of us testified about what Easter means to us personally and this is what was shared:

Empowered

Speaking of honouring and living in what Christ has accomplished for us, Tabea Rowe shared how the believer is empowered to live in resurrection power by applying God's Word to one's life on a daily basis and renewing one's mind to overcome the deception and work of the enemy (Rom. 12:1,2). Having been raised to new life in Christ, the believer is now able to apply Christ's victory over sin and death in his or her life to overcome difficult circumstances, sickness, depression and everything else the enemy throws at us. We praise God for empowering us to overome! Hallelujah!

Entrance

Hannah Schulze spoke to us about the wonderful truth that through Christ's victory, man can now enter in to the very presence of God and live in communion with the Father through faith in Jesus. Through Christ's death and resurrection, we now have access to the Most Holy Place and can experience the presence of the living God every moment of our lives (Heb. 10:19-22). As the temple of the Holy Spirit, the believer is to learn to host the very presence of God in his life on a daily basis. We praise God for giving us entrance into His presence so that we can enjoy intimacy with Him!

Expectation

Christ's resurrection was a sign to the world that there is indeed a resurrection of the dead and that just as Jesus predicted His suffering, His burial and His resurrection, He also predicted that He would come again to judge mankind (Luke 17:23-25; 21:33-36; 24:1-12). Christ's resurrection points to the hope of glory every believer has (Col.1:27) as he waits in expectation for Christ's glorious return.

Easter means the believer can live in resurrection power as he enters and lives in God's presence, is empowered by God and lives in expectation of Christ's return.

The Shout of the King

Glory to God!

We are preparing for the Global Outreach Day (G.O.D.) on the 2nd June and yesterday Steve Greenhill presented this exciting venture and inspired us to be part of what is going to be a worldwide day of seeking to save the Lost and reconciling people to the Father.

The Lord is teaching us about the nature of His Kingdom so that we will live the Kingdom life wherever we are. Yesterday the Lord showed us that His dominion is a Kingdom of blessing.

Having received the gift of righteousness through faith in Christ, the believer has access to God's abundant grace. Rom. 5:1,2
As the righteousness of God through Christ, the believer is an object of God's blessing. John 1:16; Gal. 3:13,14
The believer is called to be an agent of blessing as an ambassador of the Kingdom of blessing. James 3:9-12; Rom. 12:14
God's people are a blessed people. Numbers 22:12
To curse someone is to denounce him and dishonour him (not treat as valuable). Numbers 23:8
When we judge, criticize, and slander others, we curse them because we hold their "sin" against them. However God does not hold our sin against us and expects His people to be just as merciful and gracious as He is. Numbers 23:21; Matthew 6:14,15; John 3:17; 2 Cor. 5:19
God wants His blessed people to be a people of blessing who live to bless others.
Blessing creates a culture of honour!
The foundation of God's Kingdom is mercy and grace from which His blessing flows!
God is calling His people to rise up like a lion with the roar of blessing - the shout of the King. Numbers 23:21-24
God's people must overcome the spirit of this world with the opposite Spirit of the Kingdom!
When the believer blesses others, he releases Heaven on earth, bringing God's Kingdom of blessing into this world.

In the evening our team of 17 people ministered God's love and blessing to over 100 homeless and needy people in Frankfurt city. We praise God for His grace upon this ministry and for the salvation, healing and deliverance of people we witness every month. Glory to God!

The Kingdom of Grace

Glory to God!

The Lord is speaking to us about living the Kingdom life wherever we are. For us to live the Kingdom life, we need revelation of the nature of God's Kingdom and yesterday the Lord showed us that His Kingdom is a Kingdom of grace! Looking at Romans chapter 5, this is what He showed us:

Adam's sin caused all of mankind to become sinful by nature. Rom. 5:12-14
The symptom of the sinful nature is sin which leads to death. Rom. 5:12-14
The consequence of man's sinful nature is judgment, condemnation and death. Rom. 5:16
God dealt with the root of the problem as well as the symptom - He dealt with man's sinful nature as well as the fruit of that nature by giving us His Son. Rom. 5:8,15
Those who trust in Jesus receive a new nature! God replaces the old sinful nature with a righteous nature so that those who are in Christ become righteous by nature. Rom. 5:17; 1 Cor. 1:30; 2 Cor. 5:21
The gift of righteousness provides the believer with wonderful privileges!

The Privileges of Righteousness

The believer has access to God's abundant grace. Rom. 5:2; Heb. 4:16
The believer can stand in God's abundant grace. Rom. 5:2
Grace reigns in the believer's life. Rom. 5:21
Grace empowers the believer. Heb. 13:9; 2 Tim. 2:1
Grace enables the believer to overcome temptation and sin (Titus 2:11-14; Rom. 2:4) and to reign in life (Rom. 5.17).

Just as Jesus came full of grace and truth, so the believer is to produce the fruit of the Kingdom of grace. John 1:14, 16, 17
The key to being gracious like Christ is to live in intimacy with the Father. Just as Jesus came from the Father's heart full of grace, so the believer must stay close to the Father's gracious heart (Gr. kolpos = bosom, heart). John 1:14, 18; 13:23

We become gracious as we are soaked

in the gracious presence of God!

We praise God for His wonderful revelation to us and for His amazing gift of righteousness and grace! Hallelujah!

Producing a Kingdom Crop

Glory to God!

Yesterday the Lord spoke to us about the heart being the key to the Kingdom of God. The Father showed us that the condition of our hearts will either hinder the manifestation of the Kingdom or produce the fruit of the Kingdom.

A merciful heart

In Luke 10:25-37, Jesus is asked by an expert in the Law who his neighbour is. Instead of answering the expert's question, Jesus questions the condition of the lawyer's heart by asking, "Which one of these three do you think was a neighbour to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?" (Luke 10:36). The lawyer's question as to who his neighbour is, revealed a judgmental and unmerciful heart. Jesus addresses the condition of the lawyer's heart and commands him to be merciful (Luke 10:37).

A generous heart

Likewise, those who ask how much they should be giving or tithing are asking the wrong question. It is not about how much we give but about the condition of the heart, whether it is generous or not. Those with a generous heart will seek to reveal the Father's generous heart. The early Church produced the fruit of the Kingdom as they "had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need" (Acts 2:45). The right heart reveals the Kingdom of God and the Lord's generous heart.

A hard heart

The Lord then showed us that many find themselves in the desert, not because He is testing them but actually because they are testing God with their hard hearts. In Hebrews 3:7-4:11, we read about those who had unbelieving and disobedient hearts that could not enter God's promise of rest because of the hard hearts. The condition of the heart that wanders in the desert is rebellious and unbelieving. Those, however, with hearts of faith that submit to God, enter the finished work of God and enter the Lord's rest. The condition of the heart will determine whether we enter the Kingdom of God and enjoy the finished work of God or whether we will remain in the desert, unbelieving and disobedient.

A good heart

Looking at the parable of the sower in Luke 8:4-15, the Lord then showed us what hinders the manifestation of His Kingdom and what produces the harvest of His Kingdom. The hard, unbelieving and disobedient heart receives the word but because of the condition of the heart, the devil snatches the Word out of the heart. The Word that is sown in the heart that is shallow and doesn't allow God's Word to penetrate deeply, has no effect in the person's life. The Word that falls on a heart that is focused more on the concerns of their circumstances and the pleasures of this world is quenched and cannot produce the fruit of the Kingdom. However, the heart that is good, is a heart that is teachable and submissive and receives the Word, clings to it and perseveres with it until a harvest is produced that is a hundred times more than was sown! The believing heart therefore receives the Word and holds onto it until the fruit of the Kingdom is produced.

A submissive heart

The Lord also spoke to us about our heart attitude toward authority. He showed us that what we are in the natural is a reflection of what we are in the spirit. John addresses the same issue in his first letter when he writes, "For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen" (1 John 4:20). A loving heart loves God whom we don't see and others whom we do see. Likewise, those who genuinely call Jesus, "Lord" have a submissive heart toward authority in their lives and honour those whom God calls them to honour. If the believer does not submit to natural authority, how can he say he submits to the authority of the Word and the Lord? Either we have a rebelious heart or a submissive heart. The way we treat those in authority reveals the condition of our hearts.

A good heart receives God's Word, submits to its authority and clings to it until it produces the fruit of the Kingdom that is a hundred times greater than what was sown!

We praise God for His revelation to us and for helping us enter His rest and produce the fruit of His Kingdom.

Good Seed

Glory to God!

Yesterday's meeting was very powerful indeed. As we worshipped in song, the Lord was present to heal and the Father ministered healing to many who responded in faith. God's Kingdom was being manifested in our midst! The Lord then spoke to us about living the Kingdom life wherever we are and this is what He showed us:

Jesus mainly spoke of the Kingdom of God. Matthew 4:23; 6:33; Acts 1:3
Those who are "born from above" become "sons of the Kingdom." John 1:13; 3:1-8; Matthew 13:38
Just as the farmer sows good seed into the field to produce good fruit, so Jesus positions the sons of the Kingdom in the world to produce the fruit of the Kingdom. Matthew 13:23,24; 37,38; 21:43
The sons of the Kingdom are like yeast as they influence and overcome the kingdom of darkness with the Kingdom of God. Matthew 13:33
In order to overcome the spirit of this world, the believer must overcome it with the Spirit of the Kingdom. 1 Cor. 2:12; Rom. 12:21; Gal. 5:16
Unless the believer is overcome with the Kingdom, he will not overcome with the Kingdom! Unless the believer is influenced by the Kingdom, he will not be able to influence with the Kingdom.Rom. 12:14-21
In order to be an influence for the Kingdom of God, the believer must see the Kingdom, enter the Kingdom and manifest the Kingdom. John 3:1-8
Seeing the Kingdom means having our minds and our hearts focused on the Kingdom. Col. 3:1,2
Entering the Kingdom means entering the experience of the reality of God's Kingdom. Rom. 14:13
Manifesting the Kingdom means producing the fruit of the Kingdom: peace, joy, righteousness, love, mercy, grace, truth, etc..

As sons of the Kingdom we are sown in the world to influence like yeast and produce the fruit of the Kingdom.

We praise God for showing us what it means to live the Kingdom life wherever we are.

In the evening we had another opportunity to influence with God's Kingdom as we ministered to the homeless and needy at our monthly soup kitchen. After sharing the good news of the Kingdom, many responded by giving their lives to Jesus and being born from above! Hallelujah!

Moving with God

On Saturday we had a church meeting to get our KLF family together for a time of fellowship and an opportunity for the leaders to share what God is doing with us as a church family. We looked at the history of KLF, what has happened since we started, what is happening now, who we are, what our purpose is, what's important to us, how we are organised, how we want to accomplish our purpose, our website and what we are planning for the future. We are excited about some of the changes we are making and we are looking forward to what God will do as we move with His purposes for KLF! Living the Kingdom life wherever we are!

On Sunday the Lord spoke to us about abandonment and how the Father wants to deliver His people from the spirit of abandonment and isolation and replace it with the spirit of sonship by being reconciled to Him! Looking at the life of Joseph, the Lord showed us the destructive power of abandonment. It was a very powerful meeting and the Father moved deeply in the hearts of His people.

Journey to Wholeness

Glory to God!

The Lord is speaking to us about His agape love and on Sunday the Father spoke to us about His desire to restore us to a place of wholeness - spiritual, emotional and physical. God has brought the believer in Christ out of the kingdom of darkness and into His glorious Kingdom of light (Col.1:13). The Lord wants us to live according to His Kingdom and His truth and be free from all the hurt, pain and perversion in this world caused by satan and his influence.

Having been joined to Agape, God commands us to love Him and to love our neighbour as ourselves (Mark 12:30,31; 1 John 4:15-20). The Lord showed us that we must learn to love ourselves if we are to love others. Looking at 3 foundational areas of our lives: our personality, emotions and sexuality; God showed us how different the world view is compared to His view. We then learned how God wants His people to come to emotional and sexual wholeness and also to learn to understand, accept and appreciate who and how God has made each one of us.

To love yourself means to understand, accept and appreciate how God has made you!

After God's powerful Word to us the Holy Spirit drew us into His holiness and ministered restoration and healing to the people as they confessed and repented of believing the enemy's lies and of continuing to walk in darkness. We praise God for setting people free and for taking many on a journey of wholeness for the first time! Hallelujah!

The Incarnation of Agape

Glory to God,

The Lord is speaking to us about His love (agape) and yesterday He showed us how Jesus fulfilled His mission of seeking and saving the lost (Luke 19:10) by living to reveal the Father's love (John 17:26). Jesus, as the incarnation of agape, lived to reconcile man to the Father (John 14:6-13). Jesus came to seek and save (Greek: sozo, meaning to save, heal or deliver). Christ therefore came to reveal the Father's love to reconcile man to God to be "sozo-ed"! Similarly the Church has been joined to Agape through Christ and is called to reveal the Father's love to reconcile man to God (1 John 4:15,16; 2 Cor. 5:17-20). Empowered by the Holy Spirit, the Church is called to reveal her union with God by being like Him (Gal. 5:22,23; Eph. 5:1; 1 Peter 1:16; 1 John 2:6; 4:16); by speaking like Him (1 Cor. 14:1-3; Col. 3:17; 1 Peter 4:11); and by doing the Lord's work (John 14:12; 1 Cor. 12-14; Eph. 2:10). As the Church seeks to reveal the Father's love, the Father will glorify Himself through her and "sozo" man to save, heal and deliver him as he is reconciled to God. The manifestation of the gifts and the fruit of the Holy Spirit is the revelation of the Father's love.

Spiritual gifts are the manifestation of Agape for the sake of others and for the glory of God!

After the Father ministered truth to us, He ministered His love to us and many were touched deeply by the Father's love. Hallelujah!

In the evening we had another opportunity to minister the Father's love to the homeless and needy in Frankfurt. Over 100 people came to our monthly soup kitchen and after a time of worship and sharing the Good News of the Father's love, 8 people gave their lives to the Lord! With our team of 14 people we simply shared the Father's love with these precious people as we served them, cared for them, prayed for them, listened to them and clothed them. Glory to God!

Rick Bundschuh

Glory to God!

Yesterday we had the privilege of having Rick Bundschuh and his wife, Lauren with us. Rick spoke to us about how God takes our failures, brokenness and weaknesses and uses them to shine His Light. He gave us many examples of people who experienced failure and tragedy but how God used each of those lives to glorify Himself. Rick also told us the amazing story of Bethany Hamilton who was attacked by a shark whilst surfing and lost her left arm. Bethany's story has been an inspiration to thousands around the world of how God gives our lives meaning and purpose and how He glorifies His name despite our weaknesses (see .1 Cor. 1:26-29; Rom. 8:28). Rick has written a book on Bethany's story, called Soul Surfer which has been filmed and was released in 2011 (click here for more info...). Building a Culture of Agape

Glory to God!

The Lord is speaking to us about Agape this year and how He wants us to grow in His love. A couple of weeks ago we had the privilege of having Sharron Frood (picture above) visit KLF. As someone who has committed her life to sharing the Father's heart, she has given her life to caring for widows and orphans in South Africa. For more information on Sharron and The Gogo Trust in Port Elisabeth, South Africa, please click here and here. Sharron spoke to us about "What message do we live?" She described the very practical outworking of God's love in our lives and encouraged us to make God's love "look like something!" We were inspired and challenged to exercise our faith through love. James writes,

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." James 1:27

We praise God for people like Sharron who truly live out the Gospel and inspire us to do the same.

Yesterday the Lord spoke to us through Alexander Blair about "Being free to fail". Looking at various people in the Bible, we saw how God loves His people even when they fail. We were encouraged to realise that even though we fail sometimes we shouldn't consider ourselves a failure. God loves us and accepts us even when we fail because He doesn't consider us a failure. He sees His people as "more than conquerors" (Rom. 8:37) and strengthens them to do all things (Phil. 4:13).

It is KLF's desire to build a culture of Agape - a people who love, forgive and accept one another as they are. Creating, what John Burke calls, "a come as you are culture" (see Burke's book, "No perfect people allowed"), requires the church to recognise that we are all on a journey of growing in Christ. The church must be a gathering of people who accept the broken, the sinner, the religious, the weak and the strong! Accepting one another obviously does not mean that we agree with everything that is ungodly but unless we love, forgive and accept one another, we will not help one another know God and grow in Christ.

Glory to God!

Yesterday's meeting was awesome. The Father met with us with His amazing love as we worshipped Him and spent time in His presence.

The Lord spoke to us about what is on His heart for KLF this year. Looking at the ministry of Jesus that the Body of Christ is to continue, we noted the following from John chapter one:

Jesus was with the Father and continued to remain in the Father and the Father in Him. Similarly the Church must remain in Christ as He remains in the Church. John 1:1,2,14,18; 14:10; 17:21; John 15:4,5
Jesus left His place of glory and stepped into darkness. Similarly the Church must step into the darkness and not expect the Lost to find their way to the Church. John 1:5,14; Mt 5:14,15
Jesus came to reveal the Father so as to reconcile man to God. Similarly the Church is to reveal God to reconcile man to God. John 14:9; Eph. 3:10; 2 Cor. 5:18-20
To make the Father known is to reveal His love. The love of God is Agape - unconditional love that is full of grace and truth. 1 John 4:7-21; John 1:14,16,17

Jesus' purpose was to make the Father known so that the Lost would return to God Himself. The Pharisees' purpose was to make their religious culture known so that people would conform to their religious form. The Church must be careful not to try to pursuade man to adopt a Christian form or culture instead of pursuading man to be reconciled to the Father. The purpose of the Church is to reconcile the Lost to the Father's love (Agape). Salvation is union with God so that man can know God (see John 17:3).

God's Word to us for this season is from Ephesians 3:17-19. God wants KLF to be rooted and established in Agape and for us to grasp the extent of God's love so that we will be filled with love and overflow with love, revealing the Father's very nature. As we pursue the Agape road, we believe we will be light in the darkness and draw those who are separated from the love of God into fellowship and union with the Father's Agape love. Hallelujah!

Standing firm!

As we enter 2012, the Lord wants us to examine our lives to see whether our faith is genuine. Paul writes in 2 Cor. 13:5,

"Examine yourselves to see if your faith is genuine. Test yourselves."

Last year the Lord showed us what it means to fear Him. He taught us that to fear God is to have faith in Him and that those who fear Him or have faith in Him, rely on Him, respond to Him and revere Him. God tests our faith for our benefit so that we can have confidence on the day Jesus returns (see 1 Peter 1:3-9). The testing of our faith will help us determine whether our faith is genuine. In other words, whether our faith is internal or just external. External faith has the appearance of a life that relies on, responds to and reveres God but will soon crumble if it is not the overflow of faith that comes from the heart - internal faith. Jesus addresses this problem in his sermon on the mount (Matthew 5 - 7). The Lord is more concerned with internal faith than with outward religion that is not the fruit of genuine faith. Paul makes the same distinction when he says,

"We are not trying to commend ourselves to you again, but are giving you an opportunity to take pride in us, so that you can answer those who take pride in what is seen rather than in what is in the heart." 2 Cor. 5:12

Here are some characteristics of genuine faith:

Genuine faith pleases God. Heb. 11:6
Genuine faith is more concerned with the heart than with outward appearance. 2 Cor. 5:12
Genuine faith is more concerned with essence than with form. 1 Cor. 9:19-23
Genuine faith is the same in secret as it is in public. Mt 6:1,3,4,6
Genuine faith abides in Christ. John 15:4,5
Genuine faith lives in response to God and not man. Gal. 1:10
Genuine faith produces lasting fruit. John 15:16
Genuine faith gives life to the Body of Christ. 1 Thess. 3:3-8

The Lord is really exposing every form of religion in our lives that does not correspond to our genuine relationship with God. Unless the Church is uncompromising in essence and flexible in form, she will not reach the lost. Religious form is a cultural barrier that prevents the lost from being reconciled to God! The Church must identify whether she is trying to convert the lost to Christian culture or to God (see here for more on this subject). It is time for the Church to be real and for genuine faith to be revealed as believers truly rely on God, respond to God and revere God every day of their lives and not just on Sundays. Let us examine ourselves and let us walk in genuine faith!

The Fear of the Word

Glory to God!

This year the Lord has been speaking to us about what it means to fear Him. We have learned that God created man for three essential purposes - to be like Him (godliness); to know Him (fellowship) and to do His will (co-labour). After the fall of man, man became ungodly, separated from God and unable to produce lasting fruit. Consequently Christ came to both model restored humanity as well as restore man to God's original purposes for man. Jesus modelled perfect godliness by revealing the Father (John 14:9); perfect fellowship, being in the Father and He in Jesus (John 14:10) and perfect co-labouring as Jesus only did the will of the Father (John 14:31). Through faith in Christ the believer is born again and restored to God's original purposes for him in Christ. Therefore those who are in Christ, are empowered to be godly (Eph. 4:24; 1 Pet.1:16; 2 Pet. 1:3), are made one with God in true fellowship (1 John 4:15) and are able to co-labour with God to produce lasting fruit (Eph. 2:10; John 15:4,5). These three purposes for man can only be fulfilled as the believer fears God by relying on Him, responding to Him and revering Him.

Yesterday the Lord showed us that those who fear Him will also fear His Word. This is what God says in Isaiah 66:2,

"This is the one I esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word."

Those who truly fear God will tremble at His Word. That means that those who fear God will fear His Word by relying on God's Word, responding to God's Word and revering God's Word.

The believer fears God's Word when he relies on it as his source for life rather than as a solution for his problems. The Word of God must be the believer's daily bread (Matt. 4:4) and source for godliness (2 Tim. 3:16; Heb. 4:12); victory over the enemy (1 John 2:14; Eph. 6:17) and for life as he meets with the Author (1 John 2:27; John 5:39,40).

The believer fears God's Word when he responds to it in obedience. True humility is dependence on God rather than on self. Those who obey God's Word are relying on God's Word rather than on self. It is these whom God esteems and blesses and whose worship is acceptable to Him (Isaiah 66:3-5). Obedience is the fruit of our fellowship with God (John 15:10; 1 John 2:3-6).

The believer fears God's Word when he reveres it and honours it. Just as the power of God could not be manifested when the Living Word, Jesus was not honoured in His home town, so the Word of God cannot do its work in those who don't revere it as the very words of the Lord (Mark 6:4-6). Those who revere the Word receive it with a humble attitude as the God-breathed communication that has creative power to transform lives (1 Thess. 1:5; 2:13).

We praise God for His awesome revelation to us and for showing us that to fear God is to also fear His Word!

True Worshippers

Glory to God!

Yesterday the Lord spoke to us about worship and this is what He showed us:

God saves us to set us apart to be a holy people - a people who belong to God and worship only Him. Exodus 7:16; John 4:23,24; 1 Peter 2:9; Eph. 1:11,12
Salvation restores man to true fellowship and communion with God and turns "rebels into worshippers" (A.W. Tozer)
To worship God is to honour and value Him above anything else.
The believer is called to worship God with his life. Rom. 12:1
Looking at the response of Martha and Mary to the presence of Jesus we see two forms of worship. Martha worshipped Jesus by serving Him whilst Mary worshipped Jesus by desiring to be with Him and being satisfied by Jesus alone. Both forms of worship honour Jesus but Jesus commends Mary for her actions and tells her that "one thing is needed." Luke 10:38-41
True worship honours God when He is the believer's greatest desire and the One who satisfies him most.
We honour those whom we spend time with because time is the only resource that can never be replenished!
Spending time with God in the secret place because He is our greatest desire and only He can satisfy, honours God and glorifies Him most.
God has created a God-shaped hole in each person that can only be filled with God (Blaise Pascal).
Idolatry is desiring created things and being temporarily satisfied with them instead of desiring the Creator and being satisfied in Him. Isaiah 57:9,10; 1 Peter 4:2; Hosea 13:6
The devil seeks to tempt man to desire and be satisfied by created things rather than the Creator.
The Psalmists worshipped and honoured God when their desire was for Him alone. Psalm 73:25; 42:1,2; 27:4; 63:1
Being satisfied, filled and content in God is great gain! 1 Tim. 6.6; Phil. 4:11; Eph. 5:18
The Psalmists worshipped God when they were most satisfied in God. Psalm 17:15; 63:5; 90:14; 23:1

God is looking for worshippers who value and honour Him above everything else because they desire Him more than anything created and find satisfaction in Him more than in anything else.

We praise God for teaching us to be true worshippers!

Healing Presence

Glory to God

Our Healing Presence Seminar with Richard Maybery was very powerful indeed! Many lives were deeply touched by the Father's love as Richard shared liberating truth and people responded to God's loving kindness. Richard spoke on healing life's hurts and addressed shame, fear and control; inner vows; ungodly beliefs; and the father-heart of God. We spent much time in God's healing presence as we worshipped the Lord and simply allowed Him to saturate us with His Spirit.

Yesterday we had a full house as we joined with Charity Church from Hanau for our first joint meeting. Richard Maybery spoke to us about understanding God's ability to make His children fruitful in the desert and how hope is our anchor in difficult times. After God's Word to us, Richard ministered to us and once again the Father touched us deeply with His healing presence. We praise God for Richard and for being a true spiritual father to us, demonstrating the Father's love and encouragement to us.

The heart of the bride of Christ

Glory to God!

The Lord is continuing to speak to us about loving Him and loving one another out of our fear of the Lord. Yesterday the Lord spoke to us from 1 Peter where he writes,

"Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart." 1 Peter 1:22

The Lord calls every believer to take responsibility for his life and to purify himself "from everything that contaminates body and spirit" (2 Cor. 7:1). Obedience to God's Word brings the believer into agreement with God's will so that God can do His work in and through us. God's will is that the believer should have sincere love for the Church - a love that is deep and from the heart. The Lord is more concerned with the heart than He is with behaviour or outward appearances (see 1 Sam. 16:7 and Mat. 7:21,22). The Lord spoke to us about our need to face the facts and the condition of our hearts and to confess and repent of bad attitudes and bad fruit. Failure to do so can lead to deception and hypocrisy! When the believer ignores the weeds in his life and doesn't act on God's Word (James 1:22-24), he begins to walk in denial and will ultimately walk in darkness, unable to recognise the weeds in his life. Those who know about the weeds in their lives and pretend to walk in righteousness, not only walk in denial but live hypocritical lives.

God is concerned about the garden of the believer's heart! He desires to enter the garden of the believer's heart and "taste its choice fruits" (see Song of songs 4:12-5:1). Through faith in Christ, the believer receives a new heart, cleansed and purified by the blood of the Lamb. God has done everything for the believer to produce good fruit - that which the Spirit produces and not the works of man. God therefore expects every believer to produce the aroma of a good attitude of the heart and the fruit that proceeds from the heart that is filled with God (see Isaiah 5:1-4 and John 15).

We praise God for His revelation to us and for helping us to live in love as we devote ourselves to God's presence, people and purposes!

Yesterday evening we had another opportunity to bless the poor and needy in Frankfurt at our monthly soup kitchen. We had a great team that not only served the people but spent time with them to hear their story and encourage them in love.

Forgiveness

Glory to God!

The Lord is speaking to us about living in the fear of the Lord and as we live from God, because of God and for God, we will bear the fruit of the Spirit. As believers in Christ Jesus we are joined to God and to His people to manifest God's nature and will on earth as it is in Heaven. As the believer is rooted in Christ, he will bear the fruit of God's love.

Yesterday the Lord spoke to us about forgiveness and how the believer is required to forgive others as he is forgiven by the Lord. God's unfailing love (Agape) is revealed through forgiveness and those who are rooted in God's love are those who forgive. The Lord showed us three principles that reveal His heart and the urgency for believers to forgive one another:

Forgive those who sin against you. Matthew 6:12
Forgive and be forgiven. Matthew 6:14
Don't forgive and you won't be forgiven. Matthew 6:15

Forgiving others bears witness to the power and love of God at work in our lives!

We praise God for teaching us how to love as He loves us and for the revelation of His unfailing love! Hallelujah!

Passionately Committed

Glory to God!

Jesus is building His Church and of the increase of His government there will be no end. Jesus is reigning over His Kingdom forever because He is passionately committed (zealous) to accomplishing his purposes (Isaiah 9:6,7; Matthew 16:18,19)!

Through faith in Christ, the believer becomes part of God's purposes on earth. The believer is joined to the Lord and to His people and is delivered from a state of separation to a state of union with God and His Body, the Church (Eph.2:12-22; 3:10,11). Tragically there are believers who return to their original state of separation from Christ and His Body! In Revelation 2 we read,

"But I have this complaint against you. You don't love me or each other as you did at first! Look how far you have fallen! Turn back to me and do the works you did at first." Rev. 2:4,5

In the original Greek, Christ is literally saying, "You have divorced your First love and His Body!" The believer's first love is Christ and His Body, the Church. One cannot separate one's relationship to Christ and one's relationship to His Body. Our relationship to God's people reflects the reality of our relationship to God Himself (see Matthew 25:31-46; 1 John 4:19-21). Those who separate the two walk in deception (see 1 John 2:9-11).

Yesterday the Lord showed us how the dismembering or divorce process can happen in one's relationships, whether it be husband and wife, believer and local church, brothers and sisters in Christ etc.

The Dismembering Process

Delightfulness phase

In any new relationship there is much excitement and joy. Everything seems "ideal" and all apparent "faults" are overlooked. This is a wonderful phase of new beginnings and great expectations.

Drabness phase

As one gets to know one another, one can gradually become familiar with one another and take one another for granted. During this phase things become a little boring and common.

Disapppointment phase

As one stays in relationship one realises that the other person or people are not perfect. One begins to recognise that the other person is imperfect and the first grumblings and criticisms arise.

Disillusionment phase

As one continues in a relationship there comes a point when one recognises that there is no such thing as an ideal partner and one's unrealistic expectations are exposed. The bubble is burst and one becomes disillusioned.

Dilemma phase

At this point one realises one is faced with a choice. Either one works through the imperfections or one runs away. This is a crisis phase and the decisions one makes at this point will determine the outcome of the relationship!

Dislocating phase

If one decides to give up on the relationship and walk away, one first becomes independent and dislocated - one is still hanging on superficially but one's heart is already separated.

Dismembering phase

Isolation - the outcome of a heart that has decided to leave the relationship to look for a better one in the hope of finding an ideal partner. Driven by unrealistic expectations this person severs his relationship to the other in pursuit of his illusion.

Sadly the dismembering process is all too common in people's relationships in the world and in the Church! Christ's answer for those who are in the dismembering process is "Repent and do the things you did at first!"

God is calling His people to return to their first love -

Christ and the Church!

To avoid the dismembering process one needs to be passionately committed to one's partner. Passionate commitment or sacrificial devotion is the driving force that will fulfill God's purposes on earth and when we passionately commit ourselves to one another, we will become part of God's eternal purposes for our relationship with Him and His people!

Passionate commitment is the key to fulfilling God's eternal purposes in our lives!

Agape love produces lasting fruit!

We praise God for showing us how to be part of His eternal purposes and how to avoid becoming divorced from our first love!

Building God's Kingdom

Glory to God!

Yesterday's meeting was buzzing with excitement right from the beginning as we celebrated our King and worshipped Him together. During a very special time with God, He ministered to His people with prophetic words and touched many people who needed healing.

The Lord is speaking to KLF about the fear of the Lord and how His people respond to Him when they fear Him. Motivated by God's love, the Lord is calling the Church to devote herself to God's presence, to God's people and to God's salvation purposes. These 3 p's are the essence of living the Kingdom life.

In response to God's word to us, we are once again emphasising the importance of church membership as an expression of one's devotion to God's presence, people and purposes as well as the importance of belonging to a Life Group to connect with one another, to care for one another, to grow together and influence together.

The Lord then spoke to us about building His Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven and this is what He showed us:

Your Kingdom come!

The believer's daily prayer should be for God's Kingdom to come. Matthew 6:10
God's Kingdom comes as His will is done on earth as it is in heaven.

The nature of a kingdom

A kingdom is made up of a king who rules and the subjects that obey their king.
Every person belongs to a kingdom, whether it is the kingdom of Satan, the kingdom of this world, the kingdom of self or the Kingdom of God.
Every person has someone sitting on the throne of his life and lives in subjection to that person whether it is Satan, self or God!
The one who rules in our lives is the one we subject ourselves to and are obedient to. Eph. 2:1-3
Jesus confronted those who claimed to have God on the throne but were subjecting themselves to another. John 8:31-51; Matthew 16:23
Jesus expects those who have subjected themselves to His Kingdom to produce the fruit of His Kingdom. Matthew 21:43
To worship God is to serve Him in obedience as a subject of His Kingdom. Matthew 4:10; Rom. 1:25; 1 Thess. 1:9

Conflict of the kingdoms

Jesus is the King of kings and is Lord of all. However, we do not see everything in subjection to Him yet. Heb. 2:5-8
Only those who live in obedience to their King, produce the fruit of the Kingdom.
Satan tempts man to disobey God by getting man to do his own will. Eph. 2:1-3; Matthew 16:23
The revelation of God's Kingdom requires a response. Either the believer will change the way he thinks and behaves in obedience to God's will or he will disobey and continue to live according to the kingdom of self. Rom. 8:5, 12-14
In order not to blatantly disobey God, the believer tries to form another standard that does not accuse his disobedience (an excuse). This standard is self-created and appears spiritual but is contrary to God's revealed will. 1 Sam. 15
God wants the believer's obedience and not a self-created "sacrifice" (spiritualised disobedience).

Spiritual Trojans

Similarly the kingdom of self can seek to do its will in the church by veiling self with a spiritual appearance (spiritual trojan).
Spiritual trojans will only serve in the church if they can do what they want to do and the way they want to do it. When spiritual trojans are corrected or not permitted to do their will, they become offended and accusatory because self cannot get its way.
The spiritual servant is willing to serve God and His people in any capacity and without selfish agendas. However the spiritual trojan is only willing to serve on his own terms.

Building God's Kingdom

God's Kingdom is established and extended in and through the believer's life as he submits to his King and obeys His will.

The Lord is showing us how our name, Kingdom Life Frankfurt, is both our identity and our purpose - to bring God's Kingdom in Frankfurt as it is in heaven as we live the Kingdom life in obedience to our King.

Glory to God!

Yesterday's meeting was wonderful. The Lord is speaking to us about spiritual love and this is what He showed us:

"Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." Eph. 5:1,2

Divine love

God is love and we are called to love as He does. Eph. 5:1,2
The believer can only love as God loves if he remains in God and has revelation of God's divine love. 1 John 4:15-17
God demonstrated His love through Jesus. John 3:16
As spiritual love is contrary to the sinful nature, the believer must choose to love and live according to the Spirit. John 15:17; Gal. 5:17
As dearly loved children we are called to live a life of love - a life that remains in love. Eph. 5:1; 1 John 4:16

The nature of spiritual love (Agape)

Spiritual love is costly. It cost Jesus His life to demonstrate the extent of God's love. 1 John 3:16
Spiritual love is intentional. The Father was purposeful and intentional in giving the world His Son. Jesus demonstrated His love and we are called to do the same. 1 John 3:16-18
Spiritual love is unconditional. Spiritual love is not dependent on the response of the object of its love. God's unconditional love is revealed by His unfailing and unchanging love. Rom. 5:8; 1 John 4:19
Spiritual love is uncomfortable. Jesus left the place of glory to live as a servant in complete obedience to the Father. Phil. 2:1-8
Spiritual love is inconvenient. Jesus stepped into darkness and He calls us to do the same - to enter into someone else's darkness to give impart faith, hope and love. John 1:1-14
Spiritual love is unpopular. Jesus made himself of no reputation and lived to please the Father and not man. Phil. 2:6-8; Gal. 1:10
Spiritual love is risky. We risk rejection, humiliation, being misunderstood and being persecuted.

The reward for spiritual love

Spiriual love glorifies God. Eph. 5:2; 2 Cor. 4:15
Spiritual love benefits the Church. 2 Cor. 4:15
Spiritual love benefits the lost. 2 Cor. 4:15
Spiritual love brings eternal reward. 2 Cor. 4:17

We praise God for revealing His agape love to us and for giving us knowledge of this love that passes understanding so that we are filled with the fullness of God (Eph. 3:17-19)!

In the evening we had another special time with the homeless and needy in Frankfurt at our monthly soup kitchen.
